February is pretty dead in the salt. Shad and strippers haven showed up yet. If you get a warm stretch the bass and panfish can turn on in the fresh water.  If you have a boat or kayak you can get into some nice speckled trout at the warm water discharge from the power plant on the Elizabeth River in Chesapeake

Hey all, Happy New Year!
 
I'm going to be in the VB/Outer Banks area from about Feb 12-Feb 24
 
I live in Key West now, so I have no concept of the winter freeze. For
instance, it's 85 degrees today and hot. So, I ask you, any point in
bringing my rod up and if so, where around there is a good place to wet the
line?
