Hey Abbie,
A few more suggestions for you : Pohick Bay Regional Park, Mason Neck State Park in VA. On the Maryland side Mattawoman Creek there is a free access point on Mattawoman Creek where route 225 crosses the creek but watch out for poison ivy there's quite a bit around the launch site. Paddle down stream and the creek open up several hundred yards for the launch site. Some other spots too consider : Jug Bay on the Patuxent River. Two reservoirs on the upper Patuxent : Triadelphia and Rocky Gorge both used too have populations of Northern Pike and Landlocked Stripers, plus bass, panfish, carp. Not sure what fishing in those reservoirs is like now. I have not been at either of those places. Since my undergraduate days at the University of Maryland. Also check with WSSC on current regulations for boat access for the reservoir. In the past one needed a permit from WSSC for both fishing and boating. Which you get at the WSSC office at Triadelphia, if you still need a permit I will assume you can get an online these days.

Hello y'all!! I recently got myself a SWEET old canoe. Super wide and stable, I'm turning it into the ultimate fish finder and dog luxury cruise liner. Haha. I am looking for recommendations on where to take this baby for a spin! We have a couple small lakes I frequent but looking to add some new water to my list. Looking for small slow rivers or lakes! Thanks!!!
