Greetings from Vermont everyone!
It is with great pride and joy that I want to wish TPFR a very happy 7th birthday today! Seven years ago on this day nine of us gathered on a cold rainy night at the Orvis shop in Arlington and TPFR was born. And seven years later, it is hard to imagine the DC area fly fishing community without it.
As proud as I was of the club during my time at the helm, I am even more proud of it now, and of the fact that it continues to grow and flourish in my absence. I'd like to thank Dalton Terrell for his exceptional leadership, and John Bilotta, Trent Jones, Kyle Noonan, and Rob Snowhite for their efforts and leadership as well.
And of course, I want to thank all of you TPFRers out there that keep the daily chatter alive, vibrant, and interesting, and provide so much help and encouragement to those who find TPFR, and discover the incredible fishing and community all around them as a result.
While I may have been a little reclusive in the months since we moved up here, please know that I have been getting my daily dose of TPFR since then (enjoying my time as a "lurker"), and I have enjoyed seeing the club take on an exciting new vibe with new ideas and of course, new hats and shirts - both of which I am sporting up here in VT!
I also love seeing how Dalton and the crew have been actively supporting our other great non-profit friends (Frogman, PHWFF, FFC, CFR, etc.) through BEER TIES and other activities.
So, thank you all again for continuing to make TPFR what it is, and continuing to make it a lasting legacy that will help so many who will come after us. Your commitment to the resource, the sport, and each other is what makes the club and community so special.
