{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Thinking of doing a Float this week

Thanks for the offer but I will probably relax on Tuesday.

Today I went to the Shenandoah and fished the South Fork starting at the public landing near Gooney Creek.  I did pretty good and I paddled upstream almost to where the zip line place is at the State Park.  I caught quite a few smaller smallmouth bass and I caught about as many blue gill.

Carolina Blue Popper and Shenks White Streamer were the producers.

I am off starting Monday for a few days and I am thinking that I will finally get out and do some fishing.  Unfortunately I am by myself so a classic float is probably out of the question.  This means the grueling paddle upstream as far as I can/choose while fishing some at select points and then floating back.  I have had pretty good luck in my inflatable kayak doing this in the past at Riverbend and once on the Rappahannock.

I am trying to decide where to go.  I have thought about the Shenandoah River, the Rappahannock River, and the Potomac River (Riverbend).  Each place has its own appeal.

Which river should fish better right now?

Which place would you choose?
