The D.C. Fly Fishing in schools is planning our final fall fly fishing field trip and would love to have knowledgeable and helpful volunteers for these trips. Volunteers are asked to assist students in the technical sense of improving their casting skills, what to do when they catch a fish and also provide support when students are struggling.--
The field trips are on October 2nd and 3rd in NW Washington, D.C. at conveniently located private stocked ponds on the Armed Forces Retirement Home campus. I am looking for at least 6 volunteers a day to help assist during the fly fishing educational experiences. The first session is from 9:30-11:15 and the second 12:30-2:30. I would be more than happy if you can assist with both sessions, but understandable if you have a schedule preference.
Please contact me directly if you need more information or for directions (schabaane@livingclassroomsdc.org and 850-445-8275). Due to the security on the campus I have to let them know to expect guests in advance. I attached a picture from our last field trip to give an idea of how much fun we had.
