Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Bronze Mallard wings on a Spey Flly

I havent tried these flies. But im sure like most flies, have patience and start with a bigger size.  if it were easy, everyone would tie their own.

Burt,

Have watched several of Dave's videos.  My problem is that they do not seem to join correctly.  That is, they don't lay right on the body.  I believe it is more of a getting the feathers properly prepped, then mounting.  The below video was also helpful, but it just does not seem to work for me.  Very frustrating.

After reading several books, etching ultiple videos and running through a couple of packets of bronze mallard, I am ready to admit failure.  Those wins are really stumping me.  Is anyone in the group adelpt at tying Spey flies with bronze mallard wings? If so, are you willing to teach?
