This is not an application tester…. this is a tester who is testing the integration layer and service oriented middleware. The testing is integration between applications via web services, XML payloads transmitted over various protocols like SOAP and MQ. The tester needs to understand concepts of web services without a UI or Gui. The emphasis is on the traffic between applications not the applications themselves(real-time traffic).
