They appear to be… judging from the confused look… independent voters? I didn't think they'd be out in numbers until late August at the earliest.

Spent about three hours at Fletchers this morning. With the cooler weather, the bite was definitely off. Managed two on orange shad darts and one on an orange clouser. Also found two of these weird things on consecutive casts. They were about 24 inches long and pushing 7-8 lbs. It was a lot of fish for my five weight!
