Yes, Roaches Run is worth fishing and it's fairly easy to launch a kayak, at least it always has been. It IS impacted by tides. In fact, the flow of water through the tunnel under GW Parkway (connecting Roaches Run to Gravelly Point) switches direction, depending on if the tide is coming in or going out. There is an unmaintained soft launch at the north end of the parking lot.You can find largemouth bass, carp, catfish, snakeheads, bluegill, crappie, yellow perch, gar and more there. Have fun! And share some photos of what you catch!--ScottOn Wed, Jun 29, 2022 at 8:12 AM peter odell <peter...@gmail.com> wrote:Is Roaches Run near DCA worth fishing? Is it impacted by tide flow? How easy to launch a kayak here?on a separate note, I bought a 1wt, 6ft rod on ebay which is fantastic for bluegills with a hopper/dropper setup. I was fishing away at a local lake, and had caught a ton of panfish (couple of doubles) when something grabbed by nymph and started dragging my kayak out toward the center of the lake. I thought the rod was going to explode at any minute, but after 15 minutes of very strong fighting, I pulled in a 6-7 pound catfish that went right back in.--
