{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Shad fishing from VA side of Potomac?

I've offered to write a piece for Virginia's DWR fishing blog on the spring shad/striper run from the VA side of the Potomac.  

(I usually fish at Fletcher's so I know that the DC side provides great access… and I have fished the VA side once near the bridge.)

But I'd be interested in thoughts from the collective on other spots along the VA side of the river, launch points for watercraft, fishing tips, conventional and fly rods, flies and conventional lures.
