{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Nova Trout Unlimited Meeting with Matt Miles March 3rd.

Another quick plug, George Daniel will be speaking at the Potomac Patuxent Chapter meeting on March 16 from 7-9. Admission is free. Located at Margaret Schweinhaut Senior Center, 1000 Forest Glen Rd, Silver Spring, MD.

I hate to post things that aren't immediately TPFR related but with George's reputation I figure a few people on this thread may find interest in this event.

{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Fishing West Palm Beach Ponds this time of year... allowed? Type of flies?

Thought I would post the results of my trip.  Weather was awesome...70's.  Fished for two evenings and morning periods in one of the local golf course ponds just down the street from the rent-in-laws house near West Pam Beach.  Various top lures used.  I caught a few more fish than these photos.  My last cast on the final morning, some huge monster came up and took my popper and headed back under cover...snapped the lure right off the line.  Nice way to end this small excursion.  No issues getting my fly gear through TSA, just expect them to pull out your tackle and take a gander through it (West Palm did that, DCA did not).

Now just waiting for the warm weather to show up here in DC.

Cheers

{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Colombia Peacock Fishing Report

Check out some of the pictures of Trent's flies, those orange, red, or yellow clousers have worked well for me in Miami, not necessarily flashy but bright colors. In lower light I've also had them take poppers or gurglers but this has been much less productive.

{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Colombia Peacock Fishing Report

I plan to go chase peacocks in Florida in a few months. To be more precise, my mom has a lake in her backyard that is full of them. Do you guys have any fly suggestions? I've heard anything with a lot of flash is good. I was thinking of using clousers mostly. Thoughts?
