I'm planning to head up to the Oak Orchard River in mid-November.
To do some fishing for Steelhead Trout and lake run Brown Trout. There is also a realistic chance of hooking into a Landlocked Atlantic Salmon during this time of year on the OakOrchard.
The Oak Orchard River is it tributary of Lake Ontario and is in between. Rochester and Buffalo. It's approximately an 8 to 9 drive doing the speed limit. 2 things to keep in mind about fishing the Oak Orchard is : one it's a tailwater/dam release to fish the upper section you are required to wear a life jacket. Two a good portion of the river has steep riverbanks. I am planning to go during the week, so leaving on Sunday November 8th and returning Wednesday November 11th
Veteran's Day.
