{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Beer Tie Monday, April 11 with Special Guest Potomac Riverkeeper Dean Naujoks

Been lurking on here for a few months and it looks like I will finally be able to make it to a beer tie tonight.

I am mostly a newbie to the world of fly fishing, but the active members on this forum have been a fount of knowledge about the 'local' fisheries so far. Hopefully I can make a contribution as well in due time.

Most of my previous fishing experience comes from my pre DC days living in the Florida Keys before I moved up here for graduate school. Although I've hung up my Capt hat for the time being, I still keep in contact with many folks down there, so I'm happy to help anyone planning a trip to the Keys whether it be DYI or through a Captain or anyone just looking for a real-time report.

I've been getting out as much as I can around here with limited success. As an added challenge, I try when I can to bring along my fishing buddy. As you can see from the photo from Holmes Run last Fall, sometimes she gets over all the standing around :0 I'm sure it will only get harder when she starts walking...

Looking forward to meeting some of you tonight.

Cheers,

Craig

I also have some sweepstakes tickets to support the Chesapeake Council of the IFFF with a grand prize of a Payne '98 model bamboo fly rod 5/6 wt. x 7 ft. x 2 pc with 2 tips built and donated by Master Craftsman J. David "Skip" Hosfield of Eugene, OR. Tickets are $20 each or 3 for $50. Proceeds go to support IFFF events and clubs in our region. You can buy the tickets tonight or contact me on e-mail.
