I'm working on the "vertical jigging" with a fly rod in deeper water. I think a 450 grain line is in my future. And it'll be more like hopping and skipping along the bottom than actual jigging. It's worked for me in the past few years but the river gauge and volume were lower than currently. The 450 might be the ticket for current levels.
I got to watch Alex and Mike today and see a LOT of stripers landed, it was a great show!
I had to settle for some really BIG Ashad. By late morning the wind was murder with actual chop and whitecaps occurring.
