Dear Google group owner or manager,

We're writing to let you know about changes we're making to the settings experience of Google Groups.

In response to your feedback, we're updating the Groups' settings experience starting May 6, 2019. The goal is to make it easier for you to manage and configure your groups.

About these changes

We're removing some rarely-used settings and features, and we're combining similar settings. Learn more about the settings changes.
We'll start rolling out these changes on May 6, 2019, though you might not see changes until May 21, 2019.
When the changes take effect, we'll automatically update the settings for existing groups to map to the new experience.

Important notes

Some group members may lose access to group management features. Depending on your current settings, some group members who currently can access specific group management features may lose that access. To make sure group members have the right access, you may want to audit your groups and adjust the settings before May 6, 2019.

Settings for groups you currently own or manage will be updated to match the new settings. Note: You can change your group settings at any point.

Groups you create after May 6th will have the new settings by default.

We recommend you audit your groups settings after the changes to confirm your groups are set up the way you want.

Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Austin?

I'm from Austin. I second the Llano recommendation - some beautiful pink granite mixed in the the usual limestone topography. Use a leggy yellow foam popper in like a size 6 (smallish). Lots of Largemouth Bass and yes some Guadaloupes. You might even pick up a Rio Grande Cichlid out there - they're beautiful and native too! If you fish the Colorado like Richie says, the best stretch is down below the Town Lake dam and is best fished on a float trip. In Town Lake itself, or Lake Austin or Lake Travis (where the world record Guadalupe bass was caught - I think like 6 lbs) you will need a boat to fish effectively. Of those, Town Lake is the most accessible and you can rent a boat, but its also the most featureless. Although exploring the creek below Barton Springs can be surprisingly productive. Red Bud Isle has some accessibility but it is crowded and I only ever had success there once very early in the morning. I wouldn't recommend the public stretches of Barton Creek or Bull Creek as they are heavily pressured but you might find some fish. Check out the Greenbelt and hike until you find fish. Just know that parts of Barton Creek dry up completely in dry spells so you might not find fish for long stretches. Ditto for the Pedernales, it seems to have low fish density because of the contango of flash floods and dry spells. It looks beautiful and fishy but can seem totally barren (even though it isnt). If you spot any random creeks you want to try, be very careful. In TX you are allowed to own the stream bottom, so you cant just go wading up a stream from a public access point. And they are very protective of their 2nd amendment and property rights, as you have been trained to expect. There's a book called Fly Fishing the Texas Hillcountry I can bring to beer tie if you want, also available from the source - Hill Country Fly Fishers. Kevin Hutchison was the very first guide I ever fished with and we went to the Llano and slayed them. Trout fishing in the Guadaloupe is a fun experience due to its unique setting and the large trout they stock (although only in certain stretches stocked by TU - the state stocked trout are cookie cutter). But yeah it's like a 1.5 hour ride, and for that time investment you could fish somewhere incredible and unique like the Llano.
